Travelling to the United States?
Use the NYCE ATM Locator to search by address, city or ZIP code and find nearby ATMs that accept cards through the NYCE network.
The ATM operator may charge a convenience fee. The fee should be displayed on the screen before you approve the withdrawal.
Your debit card has a daily cash-withdrawal limit, but this does not always mean you can withdraw the full amount in one transaction.
Your withdrawal limit is based on Canadian dollars.
When withdrawing foreign currency, the converted Canadian-dollar value of the withdrawal, along with any applicable fees, must remain within your available daily limit.
For example, if your daily withdrawal limit is $500 CAD, you will not be able to withdraw $500 USD. The amount available in U.S. dollars will depend on:
Consider withdrawing less than the maximum amount displayed to allow room for exchange-rate differences and applicable fees.
Each ATM operator may set a maximum amount that can be withdrawn in a single transaction.
The amount may depend on:
For example, even if your debit card has a daily withdrawal limit of $1,000, an ATM may only allow a smaller amount per transaction.
You may need to complete more than one withdrawal. However, each withdrawal counts toward your daily limit, and an additional fee may apply to each transaction.
Before leaving Canada:
Confirm your current daily withdrawal limit
Make sure you know your debit card PIN
Check the logos on the back of your card
Use an official ATM locator to plan where you can access cash
Review the ATM screen for fees before completing the transaction
